Frequently asked questions
What heart-rate monitors work with Zonas?
Zonas works with standard Bluetooth Low Energy heart-rate monitors, including many chest straps and arm bands. If the device broadcasts heart rate over Bluetooth, Zonas should be able to read it.
Can I use Zonas with Apple Watch?
Yes. Zonas includes an Apple Watch app. You can use Apple Watch as the heart-rate source and mirror the session back to your iPhone.
Does Zonas work without a heart-rate monitor or Apple Watch?
No. Zonas needs either a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor or Apple Watch to receive live heart-rate data. It does not estimate heart rate from the phone alone.
Where is my data stored?
Workout and heart-rate data stays on your device and in Apple Health. Zonas does not have an account system or developer-run cloud storage.
I lost my data after reinstalling. Can you recover it?
No. Because Zonas does not store a server-side copy of your data, support cannot recover deleted local data. Workout data saved to Apple Health remains there until you delete it from Apple Health.
Why does Zonas ask for Health permissions?
Zonas uses Health permissions to read heart-rate-related data, calculate zones, and save completed workouts to Apple Health when you allow it.
Why does Zonas ask for Bluetooth permission?
Zonas uses Bluetooth permission to connect directly to external heart-rate monitors.
Are heart-rate zones medical advice?
No. Zonas is a training tool. Heart-rate readings and zone calculations can be inaccurate or incomplete, and they should not be used for medical decisions.
Does Zonas collect analytics or show ads?
No. Zonas does not use analytics services, ad networks, tracking tools, or crash reporting services.
